NISSEQUOGUE RIVER STATE PARK is located on
the north shore of Long Island. The Greenbelt Trail, for walking and hiking, parallels the
Nissequogue River. Canoe and kayak launch available. A variety of habitats including
tidal and fresh water wetlands which provide
habitat to a variety of shore birds, reptiles and amphibians. The
Park has a designated State Bird Conservation

SUNKEN MEADOW STATE PARK
has six miles of trails, including the northern starting point of
the Suffolk County Greenbelt Trail fronting on Long Island Sound The
three miles of beach. Activities include
swimming in Long Island Sound; hiking ; biking, horseback riding,
picnicking, fishing and cross-country skiing. In addition, the park
has three 9-hole golf courses, a driving range and putting green.
